Secondary Glazing
Enhancing Energy Efficiency at The Victoria Hall, Sheffield
Client: The Victoria Hall, Sheffield
Project: Installation of 26 Bespoke Secondary Glazed Units
Installer: Invision Secondary Glazing
Overview
The Victoria Hall, a historic and architecturally significant building in the heart of Sheffield, required a solution to reduce escalating heating costs while preserving its original aesthetic. Invision Secondary Glazing was commissioned to install 26 custom secondary glazing units across a variety of window sizes, blending seamlessly with the hall’s heritage interiors.
Challenges
Maintaining the visual integrity of the listed building.
Providing an energy-efficient solution without altering or damaging the original window structures.
Accommodating a wide range of window sizes and styles.
Our Solution
Invision Secondary Glazing designed and installed 26 high-performance secondary glazing units tailored to each individual window. All units were manufactured in-house to ensure precise fit and finish. To retain the character of the building, we crafted and installed bespoke wooden trims around each unit, making the secondary glazing virtually invisible once installed.
Key Benefits
Energy Efficiency: The building now benefits from significantly improved insulation, helping to reduce heating costs year-round.
Heritage Preservation: The original windows remain untouched and visible, maintaining the building’s historical integrity.
Discreet Appearance: The secondary glazing is barely noticeable thanks to our custom-designed wooden trims and careful installation techniques.
Client Feedback
"We’re extremely pleased with the results. The rooms are warmer, quieter, and the visual impact is minimal – exactly what we hoped for in a heritage-sensitive solution."
